What Autistic Women Want You To Know
Giving a voice to marginalized communities is a major focus of our society right now (as it always should have been). I used this phrase recently during a conversation, and the person listening asked me, “what does it mean to be marginalized?” I explained that it meant people are being left out, left behind, or ignored completely. While I was sharing this, the person I was speaking to googled that same question, and read aloud, “Marginalize: when you push people to the edge of society by not allowing them a place within it.”
We’re working harder to promote the voices of women, people of color, people in the LGTBQ+ community, people with disabilities. So, this week, I’ll let the women in this video share about their personal thoughts, feelings, and lived experiences. Keep listening and learning from others. We all need to work harder to create a place for everyone.
